Fluvanna County Volunteer Fire Department hosted a Mayday FF Down Program on March 6th and 7th and had participation from firefighters from all four Fluvanna County volunteer fire companies.  Along with Fluvanna's volunteers, firefighters from Amelia, Norfolk, Spotsylvania, and Louisa attended the class.  Firefighters learned techniques on rescuing downed firefighters, Denver Drills, Columbus Drill, ladder bails, self rescue, etc.  Firefighters also spent time in the classroom learning about LODD's, learning from mistakes that have been made in the past, and learning how to prevent them.  We would like to thank Instructors R. Graulich, B. Dommell, and K. Bartel for an excellent class and we recommend these instructors if you are interested in this program in your area.  We would also like to thank Co.5 for letting us use their training room and Goochland County Fire Rescue for allowing us to use their fire training facility.
